POSITION OBJECTIVE Reporting to the General Manager, Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar, the Leaf Coffee Bar Barista will have the main objective to prepare and present expertly-crafted menu items while displaying excellent customer service to ensure our guests have a wonderful experience that exceeds their expectations. The Barista will have the opportunity to master their beverage craft, develop and learn new skills, and create meaningful interactions with peers and guests every day. Baristas will also participate in daily cash transactions, store cleanliness, hygiene, and safety, and ensure stations are well-stocked. Baristas will exemplify excellent service with the understanding that a friendly smile and a warm cup of coffee can set the tone for the guest’s day. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Serving * Provides exceptional customer service to all guests by greeting and acknowledging all guests they come in contact with. * Prepares beverages for Leaf visitors, bar/restaurant guests and restaurant servers. * Assists guests in selecting food and beverage choices by presenting the menu and offering beverages. * Explain menu options to guests that tell the story of the Biomes. * Answers food & beverage preparation questions and seeks guidance from kitchen staff on special dietary requirement questions. * Maintains tables/Coffee Bar cleanliness. * Adheres to all MB Health regulations. * Punches orders into POS; issues bills and accepts payment from customers. * Acts as an ambassador to APC and Park Hospitality by answering questions about attractions and special events happening both in The Leaf and within the Park as a whole. * Prepare garnishes, stock, and set up Coffee Bar for service. * Follow all recipes as they apply to any beverage products as determined by the General Manager. Training and Administration * Assists with the training of new baristas and servers. * Coaches and mentors junior baristas and serving staff on an ongoing basis. * Participate in regular shift/staff meetings to ensure all staff and volunteers have current information on park events and the current business priorities of Park Hospitality. * Intervenes and aids staff when necessary to promote guest satisfaction. * Ensures compliance with all inventory control SOP’s * Ensures compliance with effective cash management and cash-out procedures. Health and Safety * Adheres to all LGCA and MB Health regulations. * Ensure cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in the restaurant areas, including refrigerators and storerooms and that food products are rotated to ensure high standards of freshness. * Ensure the work area is clean, tidy, and stocked. * Ensure maintenance requests, incident reports and incident investigations are submitted to the MOD. * Oversee deliveries to ensure the products have been delivered, stored, and secured according to the standards set by the Executive Chef and provincial health regulations. General Duties * Adhere and comply with all policies, safety regulations and safe work practices that will ensure a safe work environment. * Maintain a professional image while working and provide extraordinary experiences to our guests while performing daily work activities. * Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, volunteers, and visitors. * Demonstrate a commitment to the principles of equity and diversity, and proven ability to work effectively with a diverse population. * Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
