Winter Sidewalk Crew Member Location: Wallenstein, ON (or possibly direct to snow site) Job Type: Seasonal On-Call (Nov 15 – Apr 15) Wage: $25.00-$35.00 an hour Job Overview Earthscape is hiring a seasonal Winter Sidewalk Crew Member for snow and ice management on residential and commercial properties in Elmira, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, and surrounding areas. Members report to the Wallenstein shop or a designated location before events. Key Responsibilities Clear snow and ice using shovels, commercial snow blowers, and stand-on Snowrator machines. Apply de-icing materials and work efficiently to meet event timelines. Inspect equipment, report maintenance issues, and maintain clean, organized work areas and vehicles. Follow all company safety procedures around traffic, pedestrians, and winter hazards. Availability & Working Conditions Requires 24/7 on-call availability throughout the winter season, with short-notice response times. Shifts are weather-dependent and vary widely, including overnight, weekends, and holidays. Demands physical endurance for outdoor work in extreme cold, walking on icy surfaces, continuous shoveling, equipment operation, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Compensation & Perks Competitive hourly rate plus 10 hours per week standby pay. Overtime pay (where applicable), winter clothing allowance, and company events. Potential opportunities for future seasonal or full-time employment. Qualifications & Requirements Strong work ethic, reliability, punctuality, and clear communication skills.
