Crew Member – Dock Service Hutten Land & Shore Owen Sound, ON $19–$22/hour, based on experience Connect with the water. You’re not afraid of waves, wind, cold water, or a steep shoreline. In fact — that’s where you do your best work. As a Crew Member – Dock Service, you’ll help bring waterfront projects to life across Georgian Bay and the Bruce Peninsula. From installing dock systems and boat lifts to adjusting shoreline structures and maintaining equipment, this role is hands-on, physical, and deeply rewarding. This is hands-on, outdoor work — done alongside a high-performing team that values craftsmanship, accountability, and growth. What You’ll Be Responsible For Project Execution Work safely, responsibly, and with initiative Operate tools and equipment such as chainsaw winches, drills, and floating devices Read and interpret installation manuals, layout drawings, and specifications Communicate professionally and courteously with customers Follow company policies and health & safety standards Practice shoreline stewardship using environmental best practices Quality Workmanship Install and remove aluminum pipe, floating, and tower dock systems Install boat lifts and marine rail systems Perform dock service adjustments (height, alignment, repairs) Load, unload, and transport materials using dollies and floating devices Assist with physically demanding shoreline installations Equipment & Site Care Maintain cleanliness and organization of trucks, trailers, job sites, and yard Perform daily preventative maintenance: inspections, lubrication, cleaning What Success Looks Like Quality dock service work completed safely and efficiently Estimated vs. actual job hours tracked and respected Daily 15-minute clean/grease standard upheld Growth in skill, professionalism, and teamwork Customers who feel confident and cared for Who This Role Is Perfect For You value the Hutten philosophy and team-first culture You enjoy physically demanding outdoor work You’re comfortable working in deep water, waves, and wind (dry suits provided) You can handle difficult shoreline access and steep terrain You’re hands-on and comfortable with tools You have a valid driver’s license You want to grow — not just punch a clock The Seasonality Dock Service peaks in spring and early fall.
