Reporting to the Centre Director, you will be an integral member of the Kids & Company team, supporting the overall management of daily kitchen operations. Your role will involve food preparation and cooking, following Kids & Company standards to align with our mission statement. We are currently hiring a Part-Time Kitchen Assistant to work Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist with meal and snack portioning, and delivery to classrooms, ensuring food is distributed safely and on time. * Assist with food preparation tasks such as fruit preparation and other kitchen support duties as assigned. * Prepare and organize meal service supplies, including bins, serving materials, and delivery carts. * Collect dishes, utensils, and meal service equipment from classrooms. * Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, serving equipment, and food trolleys in accordance with food safety standards. * Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen by cleaning work areas, equipment, storage areas, and meal service items. * Assist with organizing, storing, and rotating food products, kitchen supplies, and inventory. * Follow all food safety, sanitation, allergy-awareness, and workplace health and safety requirements. * Work collaboratively with the Cook and Centre Director to support efficient kitchen operations. * Perform other related duties as required to support the overall operation of the kitchen. WHAT YOU NEED * 2+ years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role. * High School diploma or GED required. * Current Food Handler Certification, or willingness to obtain it. * Experience in a daycare environment is an asset. * Valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract. * Strong communication skills. * A clean criminal record check is required. * Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 pounds.
