Role Description The Line Cook role at Montana's BBQ & Bar in London, ON is a full-time, on-site position responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to established recipes and standards. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and stocking stations, grilling and assembling dishes, monitoring food quality and presentation, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. The Line Cook follows food safety and sanitation procedures, collaborates closely with the kitchen team, and communicates effectively with servers to ensure timely service. This role also involves assisting with prep work, managing ticket flow during busy periods, and supporting a positive, respectful kitchen culture. Qualifications Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a fast-paced kitchen environment; familiarity with grilling and BBQ-style cuisine is an asset. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and basic kitchen operations, including station setup, safe food handling, and temperature control. Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills to handle high-volume service while maintaining quality and consistency. Ability to work collaboratively in a team, communicate clearly with colleagues, and maintain a respectful, inclusive work environment. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen setting. Availability for full-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by restaurant operations. Willingness to learn menu items, follow recipes precisely, and adapt to changing priorities and guest needs. Food Handler certification or equivalent is preferred; additional culinary training or education is considered an asset.
