They also lead by example - setting the tone for our cooks, supporting skill development, and helping maintain a disciplined, collaborative kitchen culture.The Day to Day:Perform delegated tasks from the Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and/or General ManagerDay-to-day food preparation of the restaurant according to O&B standardsCook and plate dishes with precision, consistency, and attention to detail, maintaining high standards during every serviceFollow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurantMaintain a prep list of station dutiesFollow the FIFO method to maximize freshnessAssist in food inventory and controlAssist in properly receiving and storing delivered itemsClean food prep areas, equipment, and utensils, and strictly adhere to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelinesStrictly adhere to WHMIS and MSDS guidelinesOther duties or responsibilities as assigned or requiredQualifications3+ years cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant - ideally Italian cooking and experience with pasta and pizza.Culinary diploma/degree is an assetPassionate about the craft of cooking, especially pizza and pastaAn understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skillsAbility to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressureAble to spend 100% of the time standingValid Food Handlers certificate, preferredAvailability for evenings, weekends, and holidaysLegally eligible to work in CanadaAdditional InformationThis is a current vacancy.Wage: $19 - $22 + shared gratuitiesAI Disclosure To ensure a fair and efficient recruitment process, some aspects of candidate screening may be conducted using AI software.
