We are hiring for a Department Manager, Restaurant at our Woodgrove Save-On-Foods location in Nanaimo, BC. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability. You will be responsible for: Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service. Delivering operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising. Engaging and retaining team members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning. Communicating key messages and business objectives to team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Reviewing and analyzing financial reports, identifying opportunities to improve performance, and presenting KPIs to the management team. Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department. Supporting with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty. Leading inventory counts/period end of the department and resolving issues as required. Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods of time, and working in hot/cold environments. You have: 1-3 years of retail experience. Leadership experience is an asset. Food Safe Certification. A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset. Experience and/or knowledge with: Achieving sales targets and profitability. Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales. Human Resources (e.g. training, development, coaching and mentoring). Workforce planning and scheduling considerations. Health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices. Proficiency with computer applications. You are: A leader that embodies and demonstrates our leadership competency model through communication, collaboration, initiative and emotional intelligence. An effective communicator, with interpersonal and relationship building skills. Proactive in taking initiative with an entrepreneurial mindset.
