Role Description The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at The Oxley Public House in Toronto, ON. This position supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily front-of-house operations, ensuring smooth service and high standards of guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include supervising staff during shifts, assisting with scheduling, guiding team members on service standards, and helping to resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally. The role also involves coordinating with the kitchen and bar teams, monitoring quality and presentation of food and beverages, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The Assistant Restaurant Manager may assist with training new staff, managing inventory levels, and contributing to operational improvements that enhance overall efficiency and guest experience. Qualifications Strong customer service and customer satisfaction skills, with a focus on creating positive guest experiences. Experience with hiring and onboarding staff, including supporting team development and performance. Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with guests, team members, and management. Knowledge of food & beverage service standards, including familiarity with menus, safety, and quality expectations. Prior experience in restaurant or hospitality management or supervisory roles. Proven ability to lead by example, handle busy periods calmly, and support a respectful, inclusive work environment. Basic understanding of health, safety, and food handling regulations. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
