ABOUT WILLIAMS LAKE FIRST NATION (WLFN) The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN), or the T’exelcemc (people of WLFN) have belonged to the Secwepemc (or Shuswap) Nation for over 6500 years. Today, the WLFN community includes a growing population of over 800 registered members who live on reserve in Sugar Cane, in nearby Williams Lake, BC, and across the globe. Deadline for Applications: Open until filled. POSITION The Healthy Meals program is responsible for ensuring the deliverance of a healthy and nutritional lunch program. The Health Meals will establish effective working relationships with school staff, students, families, and the community to ensure ample services and quality nutrition for the students. Healthy Meals Cook will be reposting to the Little Chiefs Primary School Lead Teacher. Employment Type Permanent, part-time, 25 hours per week. Probation Period 3 months from the date of hire. Education Required Experience with Food Preparation Infant, Youth First Aide CPR, Food Safe Certificate Experience Required Minimum six months to one-year related experience. Overtime Status Non-exempt DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Preparation for school meals and snacks. Participate in school related seasonal festive feasts, with School and community events when required. Prepare a healthy and nutritional monthly menu plan. Prepare a healthy and nutritional bi-weekly shopping list. Keep kitchen area clean and safe. Maintain all kitchen appliances. Maintain confidentiality of school and students. Maintain and foster a positive climate between the school and the student. Includes the Shuswap culture and traditions meal planning, when required. Supports the mission, vision, and values of Williams Lake First Nation. Contributes to the WLFN’s ongoing success by accomplishing other duties as required or assigned.
