As a Production Chef, you will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating assigned kitchen, food production and food-service associates. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Take responsibility for daily operations, such as preparation, cooking, presentation and services periods * Be responsible for occasional catering events * Ensure all health and safety policies are followed * Perform administrative duties that include completion of weekly purchase summaries, scheduling associates for events, inventory * Direct and supervise all aspects of food production and services * Coordinate and prepare a large volume of meals daily following several different menus and concepts * Ensure appropriate portions and presentation * Plan production, delegate tasks and manage kitchen staff * Control and recycle surplus production * Assist with assessment of food requirements according to the menu and inventory, ordering the necessary commodities according to operational standards * Complete production sheets and/or register * Control the quality of commodities as soon as they arrive and rotate the stock * Place orders * Adhere to the budget * Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation and safety standards * Assist with service provision as needed Qualifications: * 3 years of foodservice or related management experience in high volume, food production environment * Post-secondary education in culinary or related studies * Red Seal Certificate and experience working in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) preferred * Food Safe Certification * Advanced Food Safe or Red Seal certification is an asset * Creative ability to apply trendy food items and presentations to operations * Able to work in a fast-paced environment, paying attention to accuracy and detail * Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills * Excellent leadership and organizational skills * Solid knowledge of hygiene and occupational health and safety standards * Customer service oriented and strong communication skills * Capable of performing administrative duties * Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word * Willingness to accommodate a flexible work schedule (including weekends) Position Requirements: * Valid full driver's license with a clean record * Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test * Pass a Criminal Record Check * Shift: 10hr/Day * Rotation: 20 Days on/ 10 Days off ESS Canada is committed to building meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities and supporting inclusive employment opportunities.
